an evening of fun & nostalgia
celebrating the careers and musical variety of
Michael Flanders & Donald Swann
About the show
If you have some Michael Flanders and Donald Swann vinyl amongst your collection of LPs or on CD, it is most probably At the Drop of a Hat or At the Drop of Another Hat; or you may recall their broadcast renditions of classics like The Hippopotamus ('Mud, Mud, Glorious Mud'), A Transport of Delight, The Gas Man Cometh or the lament marking the demise of the railway, Slow Train. This concert brought back many happy memories of that unique partnership, famous "throughout the civilised world, and America".

[We] would like to thank you, Cassie and the gang for
a most enjoyable evening. Wonderful singers and great pianist !!!!!!!!!!!
[I write] to congratulate you all on a super concert... Your accompanying was just gorgeous. You made that electric piano sound like a Bluthner!!
Congratulations on producing, and taking part in such a splendid concert last evening.... It must have been quite expensive given that there were four professionals taking part.*
*The writer was startled to learn that in fact only one of the performers [Leon] is 'professional' in the sense that it's the way he earns his living!
